One Room Challenge | Week 3| — At Home With Savvy

This week of the One Room Challenge I’ll be sharing the items I’ve already ordered! I’ll be honest, designing a new space right now has been a bit of a headache due to everything being on backorder or has a crazy long lead time; but it has been fun to think that I’ll have a new bedroom soon!

The hardest part of this makeover has been deciding to go light on the walls or use a different shade of dark paint. I fell in love with bedrooms with light walls, but my reservation is simply the fact that carpet tends to make lighter colored walls look a bit cheap. Whereas when you pair lighter colored walls with hardwood flooring, the overall look feels more luxe.

For paint, I’ll be partnering with Clare Paint and have already placed an order for swatches. Below are the three colors I’m thinking about going with, but again I’m super indecisive. I love that Clare has an assortment of curated paint colors that ships right to you door and they even offer all the supplies you’ll need to get the job done! - Talk about a one stop shop!

Although the paint color has me stuck, I have made some progress and have ordered a few thing for the space like the artwork by Jennifer Daily for Minted and I love that I was able to choose a custom canvas size and was able to add a floaters frames of my choice to really take these canvas to the next level. I’m obsessed with these quite minimal piece, it was the movement in both pieces that really stole my heart. But when I added the warm walnut floater frames to them, I was IN LOVEEEEEEE!

As for window treatment, I’ve partnered with Calico Corner to create some really chic custom drapery! You know I love simple drapes with rod pockets, but I was inspired to go for something different and went with Fan Pleated linen drapery to add a very luxurious touch to my space. I failed to mention that I went with white colorway! ( SHOCKING, RIGHT?) This is completely opposite from my current black drapery and I’m loving the idea of brightening things up! I didn’t have to go with complete custom drapery because Calico Corners offer a quick ship drapery option that ships free in 20 days or less! My order should be arriving soon, so I’ll be sharing more details over on Instagram.
